Welcome to MTB-Wales.com
MTB-Wales member Matt Page (Voltage) wins the solo Male category at the Original Source sponsored Mountain Mayhem!
One of the biggest 24 hours MTB endurance events in Europe and Wiggle sponsored Matt only goes and wins it. But it wasn’t the biggest prize Matt won at Eastnor Castle this weekend (20th/21st June). Whilst doing a post race interview in front of 1000s of spectators, Matt got on one knee and proposed to his long term girlfriend Nia and too his relief she said yes.
Huge congratulations on both counts Matt!

A Visit To Coed Trallwm.
It's a little talked about trail centre, so much so we haven't got a special MTB-Wales trail centre icon for it but MartynTR decided to pay it a visit as part of his Welsh Trail Centre epic. Here's what he found"I had always wanted to ride Coed Trallwm, I'd heard about it, seen it on a map but had never made the effort to visit it. Half way between the trails of Brecon and Nant yr Arian you'll find hidden away on the East side of the Elan Valley the privately run centre. It comprises 3 short (5km) trails of varying difficulty, Red, Blue and Black. Knowing it had short trails and that they were orientated at Beginner, intermediate and expert I decided it would be a good idea to get the wife to come along. I thought that once she'd had enough I could ride whichever of the trails i wanted at my pace while she had a break. The main problem we found was the lack of decent sign posting at the trailhead; this resulted in us starting with the black run first.

The Marin Roughride 2009 - Sunday, June 14th 2009
We've just received this press release from the guys at www.roughride.co.uk This year’s Marin Roughride is on Sunday June 14th, one week later than 2008. Marin are providing spot prizes and a test fleet which will be available from Saturday lunchtime onwards. Torq are on board with drinks and a stand. Last year entries were up 20%, this year entries are running 50% up again! Perhaps a sign that people are planning to spend more riding time in the UK, Hell of the North is already full...

New Brecon Beacons cycling festival this July
Living, as we do here in the Brecon Beacons we're spoiled by having loads of brilliant riding on our doorstep both on and off-road much of which is still largely undiscovered. Which is why we're delighted that a new event will take place designed to introduce new riders to the area.
